JACK RABBIT SLIM, one of Long Island's most established and well-respected cover bands is seeking a new lead singer. We are seeking a new lead singer because our current singer is moving out of state. There is no history of conflict in the band resulting in our current situation. Our attitude toward the music is serious, but we do it because it’s fun. We ask the same attitude of anyone interested in singing with us. If you’re not willing to put in the time and effort to make the music sound as good as possible – don’t respond.
The band is booked steadily by Omnipop Talent Agency in good rooms mainly in Nassau and Suffolk counties, but occasionally in Queens as well. We've also played shows on the college circuit, private parties, and events such as New York Islander games. We average anywhere from 3 to 5 shows a month on Friday and Saturday nights and are currently booked throught the month of May.
The styles of music we play are fairly diverse. We tailor each night, and each set to the room we're in, and crowd we're playing to. We can go from Top 40, Dance, and Party Rock (to keep the energy level high, the girls dancing, and the bar owners happy), to Heavy Rock (to keep the guys (and ourselves) happy). We’re all top notch musicians with the ability to play the tough tunes and nail 3 and 4 part harmonies.
The band is looking for raw vocal talent, the right attitude, and someone who’s comfortable on stage. This position will be filled as quickly as possible with the right person, so let us know ASAP if it sounds like we’re looking for you.
