Looking for a bassist for a melodic progressive rock band. Our influences include a lot of classic rock, progressive rock (Zappa,ELP,Yes), Jazz, and many other genres. We want someone who wants to do music as a career and is willing to invest the time to record, gig, maintain a web presence, etc. Band leader will do a lot of the grunt work, but it's got to be a team effort in general. You must be willing to possibly pick up and go to Europe, or on tour in North America or elsewhere. The fewer attachments you have to the area, the better. We're open to collaborations (if the styles are compatible), but short term, you must be willing to learn our originals (and some covers we do to earn some extra money.) You also must be able to sing backing vocals in a moderate tenor range. You don't need to be a great singer, but you should be able to hold a tune. I don't mean to be too strict in this listing, but we've had a lot of responses in the past from people who didn't meet our needs.

Our current bass player, is leaving (amicably.) He just can't commit the time anymore.

Our rehearsal studio is in Suffolk (W. Babylon.) We might move that if we find something that works better for everyone (in Nassau or Queens perhaps.)
