RETROFESTIVAL.ORG , DAVE DREW PRODUCTIONS AND BARTINI BAR  TO HOST RETROFEST27,  A TRIBUTE TO THE WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL OF 1969  TO BENEFIT THE BOBBI AND THE STRAYS SHELTER AT FREEPORT.

Organized by Allan Spielman of Retrofest in partnership with Dave Drew, Retrofest 27 will celebrate the 42th anniversary of the famous Woodstock Music and Arts Festival with a musical lineup to sample the original show in 1969. It will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2010 from 7:30pm 1:30am.  Retrofest is an ongoing grassroots effort that recreates famous festivals of the late 60s through early 70s. Participants are donating their time. There is a minimum $5 donation at the door, as well a collection for important supplies for the shelter.

The event will run from 7:30pm 1:30am at Bartini Bar, located at 124 North Carl Ave Babylon, NY 11702, across from the Babylon LIRR.  It will feature the music of John Sebastian, Tim Harden, Santana, Mountain, Janis Joplin, Sly and the Family Stone, Grateful Dead, CCR, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe ****er, Country Joe and the Fish, Ten Years After, CSNY, The Band, Johnny Winter, Paul Butterfield, and Jimi Hendrix..   Every dollar collected at the door as well as other proceeds will benefit the Bobbi & the Strays Animal Shelter in Freeport, a private no-kill shelter that functions as a 501(c)3. They are striving to upgrade their facility and support the local stray and abandoned animal population through the generosity of private donors and animal adoptions. They are one of the oldest shelters on LI that is no kill and are struggling to maintain quality services for their animals. In light of the closing of the Wantagh Bideawee, and the challenges at the Town of Hempstead shelter, the work done in  Freeport  becomes more vital.
