drummer in his 50s...love the genre + funk-jazz...my chops are rusty as are my tamas but looking to get back involved...also sing and play a little git and write songs - bluesy/country. Use to be in bands in another life. Love the feat and old stones, miles, scofield, + odd stuff like stone roses - the list is long. Recent stuff: the keys and the strypes (check them out!). I'm in Huntington - not looking to travel - have a garage to jam (wife permitting)
same age as you, I play lead guitar some harp and can double on bass to give the bass player some time in the sun.
I live in Holtsville but would be willing to meet at phase one in farmingdale if we you hear from a drummer and vocals.
I share you taste in music styles no doubt due to our similar age. I would add Los Lobos, Lucinda Williams and such but not necessarily looking to cover tunes as much as get a little creative and lay out some grooves. .
I am in my 60's, primarily play bass and blues harp. Also play some slide guitar. I am interested in getting together and playing with musicians who are into a funky, blues style- Memphis soul, '70's Little Feat, Stuff, or, currently, Tedeschi-Trucks. I am not particularly into doing classic rock (nothing wrong with the music, btw) or strict covers. So, if you rather play a version of "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" rather than "Stairway to Heaven", perhaps we can get together and play. I'm in Huntington Station and do not mind driving a little.
