RE: BE WHERE OF TRIBUTES and BENEFIETS

Jake,  this is Allan , the organizer of the Tributes. I assume I am emailing Jake, and not someone who happens to play drums and live in Ozone Park pretending to be Jake.

First, the house band and myself that organize the event put in over 50 hours of time per event, including shepping all the equipment and running the show from 8pM-3am ect. If you are offended that the house band gets paid a small amount of money by the bar for their time, thats your choice. The 50-60 dollars I go home with I think is afair compensation for my 50 house of time, including gas, print expense, and cell phone bill used to promote these ongoing events. Maybe you can recruit a house band to every 2 months put in a 6 hour night using their equpment and not go home with 50-60$. If you can do so, god bless you.

As for the event not raising money for charity, why dont you call Whosville and complain that they "are only donating the entire door to the Rick Walsh Scholarship Foundation and Family Assistance fund. "

The tributes offer many bands an opportunity to perfrom in great venues, without the hassle of bringing equipment,  while helping to raise some money as well. Many bands have used these tributes to bet into the clubs themselves, but that is between the band and the club. I am not abooking agent notr a promoter for these individual bards.

Our emails promoting this event are very clear as to how we raise money for the event. I realize the music scene here in Long island is very cut throat for all of us. Just be careful before you bash something with out knowing the facts.

And if for some reason you happen to be one of the bamds that played, feel free to reveal your identity.

WORD !
Be where of the 60's themed benefiets, showcases "whatever flaver of the month" making the rounds in Nassau county in the bars since last year.

You and your friends will only be sitting around spending you money to fill the promoter and bar owner's pockets.
Unless your bands name is THE BLUESURF or RETRO 96 you will never see one red cent or paying gig out of it.

Benefiets:
Remember New York is a 95-5 state This means 95% of of benefiets take can be kept as asministrative costs and only 5% to the cause.

DONT BE A SUCKER
