Singer looking for band

Hey guys and gals. I can't make this brief, so I hope you don't lose interest before you finish reading. I am a friendly, artistic 33 year old guy who has had a secret dream of being a lead singer in a band all of my life. I've gotten caught up these past years in work and money. Don't really give a rat's ass about it anymore. I just wanna be happy and have some fun. I'm searching for an amateur band who needs a singer. I'd like to be part of a country music band. Yes, I said country music, here on Long Island. I'm also very very much interested in blues and classic rock. But my first love has always been country. I'm not talking new crap like Toby Keith or Tim McGraw. I'm talking the real deal such as, Conway Twitty, Hank Williams Jr., Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Buck Owens, Alabama, Ronnie Milsap, Earl Thomas Conley, and the newest country I would consider is maybe Travis Tritt, Randy Travis and many others from the past. I'm not a pro, haven't sang alot with a live band. Most of the responses I get from bands is, yeah...right, don't waste our time, we are pros and you need to be too. It's just that I want this to happen more than anything, and I just need a chance. I have talent, at least give me a listen with the understanding that I can fall right into it with a little practice. I think somtimes the potential for something should be given consideration. You gotta start somehwere? Right? I got a lot of heart, a lot of life experiences and a lot of love for music. Hey, if we don't click, and you don't like my voice, I'm not gonna cry about it, I'll just move on and keep trying. Our sounds might be headed in different directions. I just recently moved here from North Carolina, and I been looking for some musicians with an interest in country music since I've been here. I'm a mature, down to earth, friendly and funny guy who is not necessarily looking to get a record deal, just have some fun with practicing, playing a few gigs here and there and having a blast. So, if you are a new band, or an established band who has been playing, and need a singer with an natural, real, and honest tone that sings the words as though it happened to him, reply back and let's give it a go. What's the worst that could happen?
