I have been singing for awhile, and playing music since a young age. I was graced with the gift of perfect pitch and therefore singing comes to me like second nature. I do a lot of improv experimenting when recording and this helps a lot for writing songs, but I can also be regimented when writing material/recording.
I went to five towns college for audio recording and am now looking to use my musical and technical skills to my advantage.
- I also write lyrics and am well accomplished with free verse and poetry. I made up a different tuning on guitar, sounds wierd yes, but it works and I guess you have to hear it to know...Even though it's tuned differently of course any musician would know that I can still be in tune with a regularly tuned guitar....i've had some cool jams and am looking to put some of this together with another band/guitarist/bass player etc.
- I also have been playing drum set and latin percussion for five years, I own a 6 piece rock kit at the moment and a djembe right now and have become proficient, it's a great addition to an acoustic jam. So yes I play all of these instruments..singing is my ultimate strong point but I am versatile and want to get in with where I fit.
- I like variety and experimenting, but i'm open to a lot of different music. I do not play in a genre and I have quite a few years of theory from highschool and college studies. I do not have an ego and I am looking to fit in with something that will work...I am serious about practice and can be a commited individual. I want to gig yes, I want to record and write music together with a band as well. Most of all I'm a serious 22 year old musician who isn't trying to mess around.
Influences include many: dredg, pink floyd, radiohead, basically old stuff/a lot of new stuff/ and anything in between. I don't base my music off of what it sounds like compared to other artists because i'm trying to create something unique but with feeling.
