Musicians wanted for "Acoustic Age"

This is more throwing an idea out there rather than something already established. I am a singer and rhythm guitarist. I have an excellent lead guitarist as well. I would like to get a full-fledged acoustic band going, rooted in 70-90s music. My idea includes at least one female to sing both lead and harmonies, another guy who can sing (preferably higher harmonies, as well as lead).

There's so much great stuff out there that can be done brilliantly acoustically. I don't mean just playing standard acoustic stuff like you see at coffee houses, I don't mean stuff that has to be blah and folksy. But, for example, I found a YouTube version of Peter Gabriel's Red Rain sang by him, Natalie Merchant and Michael Stipe. It's absolutely brilliant. An acoustic version of Collective Soul's "Shine." The band Live did a phenomenal Unplugged. Loads of classic 70s rock can be rich acoustically because it was so musically and vocally brilliant. There's a TON of stuff to play, both common and obscure (which I often think is the most fun).

I'm not a star musician. I don't have a 20-year resume of playing gigs across the Island (I'm 32 by the way). I'm just a guy with a guitar who can sing a bit, who misses the hell out of performing, and has an idea I hope other people can get into. If you're hyperserious, I'm probably not what you want to work with. I'm serious about my family and my job. I want this to be fun, to the point where I'll take it seriously but I won't stress about it.

Hopefully that makes sense, and hopefully you'll be up for taking part.

E-mail me at ghenglein@yahoo.com, or post here to discuss.

And whatever you're doing, love doing it.
